Fresh Learner Instruction

Fresh learner (L) license holders get to develop best driving practises for safe driving

At Tailwind Driver Training Academy, our mission is to develop safe drivers for Australian roads. Our systematic and structured approach aids new learner license holders in establishing excellent driving habits, ensuring they evolve into safe drivers over time.

For new learners aged 16 to 25, this also means they can take advantage of the 1:3 logbook hour credit for the first 10 hours, allowing them to qualify for the driving test more quickly.

New learners, particularly teenagers, often adopt habits from family members they frequently ride with. It's crucial they learn the correct practices from the outset, as failing to do so makes it more challenging to adjust these habits later, potentially resulting in failing the test and becoming unsafe drivers.

At Tailwind Driver Training Academy, we ensure learners absorb all aspects of safe driving. This includes understanding road rules and regulations, maintaining a road-worthy vehicle, proper sitting posture while driving, how and what to observe on the road without losing focus, road positioning and speed control, developing instincts and decision-making skills, and handling high-stress driving situations calmly.

We have observed that most new learners need at least 10 hours with us initially before accumulating hours with family members, plus an additional 5 hours to prepare for the test. However, these estimates may vary depending on the learner's skills and learning capacity.
