Ariely

Ariely, a Brazilian national, arrived in Australia about a couple of years ago to pursue her studies and to further settle down in Australia. Like most other migrants, in Australia, she found her home away from home. And during her flight from Brazil to Australia, she also happened to bump into a few others pursuing similar dreams and goals, some of who are now her best mates. "I have been lucky that way - I made some friends even before I took off for Australia!" recalls Ariely.

Ariely has been driving around for quiet some time. She had gotten accustomed to driving ways in Australia. "But I know that passing the driving test is a little different. And I knew the best way to go about it is to get some professional help" says Ariely.

Ariely finally managed to find a test slot in Hornsby. However, she doesn't frequent Hornsby and is not fully aware of the test routes here. "So I knew that if anyone could help me, it had to be someone who knows the test routes, and can guide me with tips and best practises to pass the test."

Through google, she found and got in touch with Nabin, a very busy Instructor based in Hornsby. Unfortunately he was overbooked, but like he always did, he shared the contact of another instructor he trusted in the area. "Nabin gave me SUjith's number and he highly recommended him. I soon realised why Sujith came with such high recommendation after the first session!"

Ariely did a couple of classes with Sujith during which time he got her familiarsed with the test routes, and also gave her specific safe-driving tips that could come in more than handy during the test.

"I had taken some lessons from other instructors in the past, but now I could really see the difference in quality. Sujith was able to provide far more clarity and reasoning on why some of the things had to be done in certain ways. The sessions were immensely beneficial." Ariely quotes.

Ariely was obviously very nervous in the first attempt. However, because of a very unique situation that presented itself, she missed out on passing the test, despite doing extremely well in all other areas! "I was disappointed, but I also felt good and confident. I knew I was this close to succeeding in the test" says Ariely bring her thumb and forefinger on her right hand very close to each other.

"I was tempted to go for another test at any available center. I resisted the temptation and that paid off. I soon got another test slot in Hornsby." Ariely took another refresher from Sujith and she was all set. But then things were to take a different twist.

"I was glad to meet Sujith at the center who was helping another friend of mine take her test just before mine. She had completed her test by the time I was about to start mine, and she passed with a perfect 100%. That was even more inspiring for me - the perfect boost at the perfect time!" says Ariely.

And as the assessor started with the car roadworthiness test, he found one of the brakelights of the car that Ariely drove down in for the test, not working. "I felt the world imploding on me and was almost blacking out, as this would have meant the test was getting terminated. And that is when I saw Sujith running to me with the keys to his car. This was probably the luckiest I ever felt!" sighs Ariely.

After the test, the testing officer gave a facial expression that said "Girl, if only you did better", and Ariely was already nervous. And then those 3 magical words came out of his mouth... "Congratulations, you passed!"

"Honestly speaking, it took me a while to sink in. I felt like a bird let free into the world. And now, I do not have to bear the heat and cold to commute between home and work. I DRIVE! Many people to thank - Nabin who referred Sujith to me, Sujith who guided me in the journey and came to me like an angel when my car was not found worthy of taking the test in, and the testing officer who made it easy for me!" signs off a visibly delighted Ariely!!
