Gagan

Gagan landed in Australia a few years ago, like many others, to pursue his higher education and build a better life. And to achieve this dream, he had to make some big sacrifices, including living in a new country without his family to support him. "I got married at a young age, and was looking to build a life in Australia along with her. However, for now, we had to settle with just me coming here while we worked on my wife's visa." Gagan recalls.

Gagan landed in Australia with a student visa. And as has been the story of a lot of overseas students, in order to make ends meet, Gagan has been working multiple jobs. "These casual, part time jobs are not just for money, but also for some real world experience. It is fun, but also exhausting." says Gagan. "I have also been doing some food delivery for some additional income."

However, a new law requiring overseas license holders to convert their license quickly meant that Gagan had to find a way to keep his driving going. "I had to book in a test, and I had to pass the test. If I failed in the test, it would mean I would get a learners license, which would restrict me from driving without a supervisor driver, which in turn would impact my freedom and earnings." says Gagan.

Gagan initially signed up with an established and reputed driving school in the area and did a class. However, the instructor's busy schedule meant he had to find another instructor. "And upon checking, the instructor introduced me to SK from Tailwind and vouched for him." Gagan recalls.

After the first session with SK, I felt very comfortable. SK was not just friendly and professional in his approach, but also came across as a transparent and genuine person who was not trying to exploit my situation and extort money from me. "He said that I am already a good driver, and only needed a couple of sessions to correct a few technicalities to easily pass the test".

"The test center, however, had a huge backlog of tests and there were no slots available. And it is at this time that SK once again came to my help. He knew that another student of his was cancelling their test and this slot was available for grabs. I was informed in real time which helped me grab this slot before anyone else. This also meant I could attempt the test before the license conversion deadline was over, and I could continue driving without a break." Gagan is elated.

The test happened and Gagan succeeded with flying colours. Today he is grateful that he can continue to work towards achieving his personal goals!
