Lakshmi and Guru

Guru and Lakshmi with extensive international driving experience were in the process of obtaining their driver's licenses in Australia. In line with updated regulations, they have been actively researching and preparing to meet local licensing requirements.

"The both of us have driven extensively in India. So we honestly felt getting a license in Australia with that level of experience will be straightforward", says Guru. "We were wrong"

"With many years of driving experience, we pick up habits, which may not be acceptable in the driving tests here." adds Lakshmi. "This meant we had to make some fundemental adjustments to our driving habits to succeed here"

The couple started researching driving schools in the area and found tailwind driving school via the recommendations in a WhatsApp group. "Tailwind’s sessions were modelled in a very straight forward manner. Pricing was simple and there were no hidden charges."

Initially it was Guru who signed up with Tailwind. "SK was very thorough with the sessions - right from sitting posture and hand positions on the streering to all aspects of driving such as speed management, positioning, vehicle control, decision making and hazard perception.". A few classes later, as Guru started his test preperation, Lakshmi also signed up for the classes.

"As the test date neared, I was nervous and even contemplated rescheduling the test. But a few additional classes gave me the confidence. In my first attempt, I secured a full license!" says a delighted Guru

Lakshmi's path to success was made harder by some abrupt health issues she encountered. "I caught a flu just in time for my test and I had to make the hard choice to reshedule. It was not an easy decision to make, particularly because getting another test slot soon was a big challenge given how the calendar was bocked for the next 2 months. Luckily, I managed to grab a slot that presented itself in the form of a super Saturday! And after a few nervous moments, the magic moment was there...I passed in the first attempt!".

Lakshmi and Guru are now beginning to enjoy the new freedom in life - from shopping and going out for one day trips. "Soon we hope to enjoy some longer drives!"
