Rakshita

Originally from New Delhi, India, Rakshita is an accomplished finance professional working with one of Australia’s largest integrated fleet management and vehicle leasing companies.

Like many professionals settling into life in Australia, Rakshita took the time to establish herself, build a routine and balance the demands of a busy career with her personal life. Once things began falling into place, there was another important goal she wanted to achieve — securing her Australian driver licence and gaining the independence and convenience that comes with being able to drive confidently.

Rakshita already brought valuable driving experience from India. However, she also recognised something that many experienced overseas drivers discover after arriving in Australia: knowing how to drive and being fully prepared to drive to Australian standards can be two very different things.

From observation and decision-making to road positioning, speed management, signalling, gap selection and the finer expectations of a NSW driving test, there was a new driving environment to understand and adapt to. Rakshita knew that professional guidance could help her identify the gaps, refine her existing skills and prepare more effectively for the test.

Rakshita discovered Tailwind Driver Training Academy through a Google search. After reading about the experiences and successes of some of our previous learners, she decided to give Tailwind a try.

She began with a trial session, which gave us an opportunity to assess her existing driving skills, understand her strengths and identify areas that needed improvement. Just as importantly, it gave Rakshita the opportunity to experience our teaching approach before making a longer-term commitment.

Following that first session, she decided to continue her journey with us by signing up for one of our multi-session packages.

Working in a responsible position within a large organisation comes with a demanding schedule, and finding regular time for driving lessons wasn't always easy.

But Rakshita remained committed to her goal.

She worked her lessons around her professional responsibilities and continued to practise, improve and gradually fine-tune her driving. Each session was another step towards becoming not simply test-ready, but a safer, more confident and more composed driver on Australian roads.

Then came test day.

On her first attempt, Rakshita delivered an exceptional drive, achieving a remarkable 99% score. Unfortunately, a single incident meant that despite such a strong overall performance, she wasn't able to secure her licence that day.

It would have been understandably disappointing after coming so close. But Rakshita didn't allow that setback to define her journey.

She regrouped, continued preparing and returned for her second attempt with the determination to finish what she had started. And this time, there was no missing the target.

Rakshita is now a full Australian driver licence holder!

Her journey is a wonderful example of how existing driving experience, when combined with the right guidance, consistent effort and determination, can be successfully adapted to Australian driving standards.

We are immensely proud to have played a part in Rakshita's journey and delighted to see her achieve this important milestone.

Congratulations, Rakshita! 🎉

We wish you many years of safe, confident and enjoyable driving ahead — and we hope your new-found driving independence makes both your professional and personal life that little bit easier.
