Srinidhi
Like several other immigrants, Srinidhi (or Nidhi, as she likes to be called) migrated to Australia with many hopes and dreams! She moved to Australia in late 2024 from India, and came to do pursue her studies in civil engineering.
"I am an independent woman, and I wish to live my life that way. I have always strived to ensure that I am able to stand on my own feet and make my achievements my own. That way, I feel more free and less obligated to others", says Nidhi.
After moving and starting her university and her part time job, she quickly realised how important it was to start driving. "I had an Indian license, but I had not driven around much. The fact that I was neither familiar with the roads nor the road rules in Australia made is even more difficult for me, and my confidence was not really up there", recalls Nidhi. "Taxis are expensive, and public transport not very convenient with constant delays. And I vowed to secure an Australian license as soon as possible."
Nidhi set out to find a good and reputed driving school that focussed on providing quality service than on extracting money. After a quick research, she got in contact with Tailwind. This was quickly followed up with an in-person visit where she got a chance to speak with SK, the chief instructor of Tailwind, and also have a look at the car. "I felt very comfortable after the initial conversation, and it was an easy decision to make. I signed up with Tailwind and got started with my driving classes.", says Nidhi.
After a few classes, as Nidhi started getting ready for the driving test, she was required to travel outside of Sydney for a few days. This meant she had to reschedule the test. Once Nidhi was back in Australia after a couple of weeks, she took a couple of additional lessons with Tailwind.
"I was extremely nervous on the day of the test. SK helped me calm down. He looked more certain in my success than myself", adds Nidhi with a laugh. And as the testing officer pronounced the magic words "Congratulations, you have passed!" after the test, Nidhi had a very hard time digesting the news. "I was literally pinching myself to ensure that I was not dreaming. Taking an Australian license meant so much to me. The fact that it happened in my first attempt was, and still is, beyond all joys words can express!"
Nidhi is now saving up to purchase a car and confidently navigate the Sydney roads to university and to her work!

"I am delighted beyond words to have passed my driving test in my first attempt... Thank you Tailwind!"
