Vinod

Vinod, originally from Mumbai—India’s financial capital—moved to Sydney with his family in 2023. He works for a leading software company and balances a demanding professional life with spending quality time with his family.

Having never held a driver licence before, Vinod began learning to drive only after arriving in Sydney. In some ways, this worked to his advantage, as he could learn Australian road rules and safe driving practices from the outset without having to unlearn habits developed outset without having to unlearn habits developed under different driving standards. However, starting from scratch also meant working hard to overcome his initial doubts and anxiety behind the wheel.

After missing out in his first few driving test attempts, Vinod discovered Tailwind Driver Training Academy about a month ago. Encouraged by the positive experiences shared by our previous learners on Google, he contacted us and enrolled in five lessons. We focussed primarily on correcting a few driving habits and responding to potential hazards.

Vinod narrowly missed passing on his first attempt after beginning lessons with us. Rather than feeling discouraged, he was delighted with the progress he had made and recognised it as his strongest test performance to date. The experience gave him renewed confidence and motivation.

When another test appointment became available soon afterwards, Vinod booked it without hesitation. He completed a couple of additional sessions with us to remain focused and well-prepared before returning for the test. This time, his commitment and perseverance paid off—he passed with an outstanding score of over 95%.

Vinod is now a proud P-plater, with many exciting journeys ahead. Most importantly, having his licence gives him greater freedom and independence to take his family out, particularly his two-year-old daughter.
